March 7, 2008 - An update to the IHSDM 2007 Public Release is now available for downloading (patch1). The update (version 4.0.5, dated March 5, 2008) includes defect corrections related to LandXML data import processing. A complete list of corrections and enhancements for the update are documented in the Release Notes for the 2007 Public Release.
This update also includes a new version (1.6.0_04) of the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The new JRE includes a significant number of improvements to the JRE. No patch IHSDM download is available.
December 18, 2007 - The IHSDM 2007 Public Release (Version 4.00) is now available for downloading. The 2007 Public Release includes significant enhancements to the Highway and Intersection Editors, user interface, evaluation process/wizard, output/reporting, help/documentation, Administration Tool, and system configuration, as documented in Release Notes for the 2007 Public Release. June 14, 2007 - The second public patch to the IHSDM 2006 Public Release (Version 3.00d) is now available for downloading. The new version, 3.00d, includes defect corrections related to intersection definition. It also includes a new backup/recovery mechanism that can prevent losses due to program errors. If you have already install the IHSDM 2006 Public Release, Version 3.00 or 3.00b, a patch distribution file is available to upgrade the installation to Version 3.00d. New user downloading the full distribution will be installing Version 3.00d.
November 30, 2006 - The first patch to the IHSDM 2006 Public Release (Version 3.00b) is now available for downloading. The new version, 3.00b, includes defect corrections related to LandXML import, intersection display and highway version selection. If you have already install the IHSDM 2006 Public Release, Version 3.00, a patch distribution file is available to upgrade the installation to Version 3.00b. New user downloading the full distribution will be installing Version 3.00b.

May 8, 2006 - The Preview Version of the IHSDM 2006 Public Release (Version 2.12) is now available for downloading. The 2006 Public Release will include significant enhancements to the user interface, documentation and functionality, as documented in Release Notes for the 2006 Preview Version. The purpose of the Preview Version is to give selected users the opportunity to review and comment on these enhancements. Feedback received by June 30, 2006 will be considered in finalizing the 2006 Public Release, which is scheduled for posting on September 30, 2006. September 30, 2004 - The 2004 public release of the IHSDM software has been posted on the download web site. The new release includes more than 80 defect corrections, enhancements, and new features. Highlights include:

August 12, 2004 - The IHSDM software will trigger the firewall feature of the new Windows XP Service Pack 2. The software will cause a Windows Security Alert because IHSDM opens a socket to detect multiple simultaneous instances of IHSDM. The security alert is attributed to the name javaw with an unknown publisher. This is the Java runtime environment (JRE) deployed as part of IHSDM. When presented with the dialog shown in Figure 1., Windows Security Alert, it is safe to unblock the application.

The scope of the unblocking can be limited to local computers. To change the scope, open Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall. Find the instance of javaw in the list associated with IHSDM by selecting the item and clicking the Edit button. The path should be within the directory that IHSDM was installed in, e.g. C:/Program Files/ihsdm/bin/javaw.exe. Click the Change scope... button, and select My network (subnet) only.
February 16, 2004 - The IHSDM software web server was upgraded to Fedora Core 1, Apache HTTP Sever 2.0 and Tomcat 5.0.
January 29, 2004 - The GEOPAK-to-IHSDM API packaged in the current IHSDM Public 2003 software has been found to be corrupted. An update has been posted in the download area.
January 9, 2004 - A new release of the IHSDM Public 2003 software has been posted on the download web site. The new release includes over 200 defect corrections, enhancements and new features. Many of the improvements are based on suggestions obtained during the initial presentations of the IHSDM training course. Some of the highlights include:
December 5, 2003 - The IHSDM software download web site now uses the URL https://ihsdm.org. If you maintain a bookmark to this site, please add the new URL. The old URL will become invalid sometime in the future.
June 3, 2003 - The IHSDM is now operational.
